This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and credit purchases work for AskGPT ("Service," "Platform"), operated by AskGPT Inc. ("Company," "we," "us"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
AskGPT is a subscription-based digital Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product. Because access, AI usage, and infrastructure costs are incurred continuously from the moment you start using the Service, paid fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated below.
Before purchasing, we strongly encourage you to use the 14-day free trial to confirm AskGPT fits your needs. The trial requires no credit card and gives you full Starter-plan access.
Free Trial
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with Starter-plan access and no credit card required.
- You will not be charged during the trial period
- You can cancel any time before the trial ends with no obligation
- At the end of the trial, you must subscribe to a paid plan to keep full access; otherwise the account is downgraded to read-only
Because the trial is free, no refund is applicable for the trial period itself.
Cancelling a Subscription
How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time, without contacting support, from Dashboard โ Billing.
- Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal charge
- Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period โ you keep access to everything you paid for
- After the period ends, the account is downgraded to read-only; your data is retained per our Terms
What cancellation does NOT do
- It does not trigger a refund for the current (already-paid) billing period
- It does not delete your account or data โ to delete your account, use Dashboard โ Settings โ Delete Account
Cancelling is instant and self-service. You remain in control until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refund Policy
As a digital SaaS product, AskGPT operates on a no-refund policy for the following:
- Partial billing periods โ we do not prorate or refund unused time after a cancellation
- Unused message or credit allowances within a billing cycle
- Monthly and annual subscription fees already charged
- Credit top-up purchases (see the next section)
- Accounts suspended or terminated for violating our Terms or Acceptable Use policy
Downgrading a plan takes effect at the next billing cycle and does not generate a refund for the difference in the current period.
By subscribing, you acknowledge that AskGPT delivers a digital service immediately and that subscription fees are non-refundable except for the verifiable exceptions listed below.
Credit Top-Ups
Paid plans can purchase additional credit packs. Please note:
- Credit top-ups are added to your balance immediately upon purchase
- Top-up credits are non-refundable once purchased
- Top-up credits expire at the end of your current billing period and do not roll over
Because credits are consumed by AI operations as soon as they are used, they cannot be reversed or returned after purchase.
Eligible Exceptions
We will review and, where appropriate, issue a refund or credit in the following limited cases:
- Duplicate charges โ you were billed more than once for the same period
- Verifiable billing errors โ an incorrect amount was charged due to a system error
- Unauthorized charges โ a charge you can demonstrate was not authorized by an account owner
- Where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction
Requests for billing-error exceptions must be submitted within 14 days of the charge. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe and may take 5โ10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
Chargebacks & Disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first โ most issues are resolved quickly without involving your bank.
- Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your account pending resolution
- We retain billing records and usage logs and will provide them to your payment provider when disputing an unwarranted chargeback
- Resolving a dispute in good faith with us is faster and keeps your account active
Our billing team responds to refund and billing inquiries within 5 business days. Reaching out directly is almost always the quickest path to a resolution.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund under one of the eligible exceptions above:
- Email billing@askgpt.ai from the email address on your account
- Include your account email, the charge date, and the amount
- Describe the issue (e.g., duplicate charge, billing error) and attach any relevant receipts
We will review your request and respond within 5 business days with a decision and next steps.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify active subscribers by email where the change is significant
Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
